## The mark

The RightRates mark is the **rate flag** — a solid square cut by a rising
diagonal of negative space. It reads as a routing/exchange gate and works from
favicon size upward. It is provided as:

- `rightrates-flag-ink.svg` — flag in ink, for light backgrounds
- `rightrates-flag-paper.svg` — flag in paper, for dark backgrounds
- `rightrates-icon-tile.svg` — the app tile (ink square + paper flag); this is
  the primary app icon / avatar
- PNG exports at 512 and 1024 px are included in the pack

### Clear space & minimum size
Keep clear space around the mark equal to at least the width of the diagonal
gap. Minimum size: 16 px (favicon) for the flag, 24 px for the tile.

## Wordmark

The wordmark is **`rightrates`**, always lowercase, set in **Archivo Bold**
with tight tracking (approx −0.045em). The `.io` suffix, when shown, is set in
grey (`#8f959e`). Never capitalise as "RightRates" in logo lockups (the running
brand name in prose is "RightRates").

- `rightrates-lockup-ink.svg` — flag + wordmark, for light backgrounds
- `rightrates-lockup-paper.svg` — flag + wordmark, for dark backgrounds

**Signature gradient:** `linear-gradient(100deg, #3d72ff, #8b6cf6)` — used only
on occasional headline words, hairlines and glows. Never as a fill for large areas.

The system is monochrome-first. Colour is a signal, not a surface.

## Typography

- **Display / headings:** Archivo (500–700)
- **Body / UI:** Instrument Sans (400–600)
- **Mono / data / labels:** IBM Plex Mono (400–500)

All three are open-source (Google Fonts / SIL Open Font License).

## Do

- Keep generous negative space; let the mark breathe.
- Use ink-on-paper or paper-on-ink; keep contrast high.
- Reserve the accent blue for single points of emphasis.

## Don't

- Don't recolour the mark outside ink / paper.
- Don't stretch, rotate or add effects to the mark.
- Don't set the wordmark in any font other than Archivo.
- Don't place the mark on a busy or low-contrast background.
